WATER AND WINE EVENTS IN SEDONA AND THE VERDE VALLEY

Sweeping banks of multicolored fall wildflower blossoms, a sky of glowing cobalt against the red-capped Mogollon rim, and crisp air so fresh you wish you could drink it… Those might be some of the pictures one envisions when fall in the Verde Valley comes to mind, along with the rewarding wine harvests, festivals and Verde River events to attend this week. Verde Adventures is a partner with the Sedona and Verde Valley Chambers to promote sustainable tourism in Arizona. Whether you are a welcomed visitor or a proud local, there are plenty of options for everyone to enjoy what the Verde Valley is all about: Water and Wine

WATER AND WINE EVENTS

The Verde Valley goes off this weekend with events and activities.

Verde River Day

Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood will celebrate its 30th annual Verde River Day on Saturday, September 28, 2019.  Arizona State Parks has waived park entrance fees for all visitors attending the event.  All of the activities are at no cost, thanks to the many exhibitors and sponsors.  Verde River Day promotes preservation and care of the environment by showcasing informative exhibits on the Verde’s unique riparian habitat.  Some of the day’s events include a climbing wall, organized canoe and kayak rides, sand castle building, and nature-based exhibits. Guests of all ages are welcome to fish in the lagoon that is loaded with hundreds of pounds of catfish. Poles, bait and tackle are provided for all ages. No fishing license is needed 8am – noon. There will be a wide range of entertainment throughout the day.  See the live birds and reptiles or participate in the guided Bird Walks throughout the day.
