Verde Valley Native Archaeology Adventure

Join us on an educational tour of the magical Verde Valley.  Our professional guide picks you up anywhere in the Cottonwood and Clarkdale area. We then visit Montezuma Castle and Tuzigoot National Monuments and learn about the Sinagua people that called the Verde Valley their home.

Your 1/2 day includes a tour of:

  • Montezuma Castle National Monument – Amazing 5 story cliff dwelling built by the Sinagua
  • Tuzigoot National Monument – The best preserved pueblo ruin of the Sinagua people in the Verde Valley
    • Entrance fees for both National Monuments are included


  • Entrance fees for both National Monuments are included
  • Included in the price are plenty of yummy snacks and bottled water
  • Comfortable shoes suggested as we will be doing walking tours at each location
  • Guide gratuities are not included in price (recommended $10 per person)
  • Operates in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately
  • Please note, entrance into the Montezuma Castle itself is not permitted

  • About 3.5 hours
  • We begin picking up in Cottonwood, Jerome and Clarkdale at 7:30 – 8:00 a.m. and arrive at our first archaeological site at around 8:30 a.m.


  • 8 a.m. – Professional guide begins pickups in Cottonwood & Clarkdale
  • 8:30 a.m. – Arrive at Montezuma Castle National Monument
  • 9:30 a.m. – Shuttle departs Montezuma Castle for Tuzigoot
  • 10:15 a.m. – Arrive at Tuzigoot National Monument for tour
  • 11:15 a.m. – Shuttle departs Tuzigood National Monument
  • 11:30 a.m. – Shuttle arrives at your accommodations or Old Town Cottonwood parking area
  • 12:30 p.m. — (Optional) Shuttle departs for Water-to-Wine and Vineyard tours
